This thing you would think, would handle poorly.

LOL There were sure some off the wall ideas around that time. Trying to figure out the point of this airplane though.....seems a little.......stupid.....

The ME-163 Komet (a rocket fighter) had about 15 seconds of powered flight. Then it glided down.

He HE-177 Grief kept catching on first. Eventually the realized that the plane had a defect that allowed aviation fuel and oil to build up around them to catch fire. Given that this was the only heavy bomber built during the war by the Germans, it was a major blunder.

Actually the Grief had so many problems that it could be used as an example of how not build an airplane.

They fitted it with rockets late in the war to shoot down US bombers, despite the fact it was a bomber itself. It never managed to find any bomber streams which was quite a feat for 1944 Trying to make a heavy bomber into a dive bomber was one of the many wacky ideas of the Luftwaffe.
