I am moving from NJ to Ellicott City for work. Can some one please suggest places that are ethnically diverse, safe and family oriented to rent? My budget is around $1500 plus or minus $200. My work will be in Ellicott City and I can manage a maximum of 20 minute drive. Bonus if there are Asian Indian establishments/stores/restaurants near by. Thanks in advance.

Ellicott city will fit what you are looking for. Probably the highest Korean population in the state, plus many others ethnicities. You should be able to find your price. Go to a 7eleven and get an apartment guide plus check craigs list.

Just live in ec. Or columbia. Or you can live in baltimore if you prefer a city lifestyle, might be slightly over 20min depending on where in ec it is.

Here's a list of ethnic markets in Howard County (both EC and Columbia are in Howard County): HowChow: Buy The World: Ethnic, Organic and Specialty Groceries

There are also some good Indian restaurants in Columbia (e.g. Mango Grove).

Thanks for these leads. Sounds reassuring. I am not very fond of city life anymore. Would like a quieter family oriented environment. So Baltimore is out of question. I will settle more or less in EC or Columbia. Thanks to both of you.
