Hello All,
I am relocating to Baltimore from California. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances I am not able to visit until late August, well after I need to secure a place to live. I have narrowed down my online search to 3 apartment buildings. Can you provide some information on the location (safety) and the apartments/apartment building?

The Abell
The Greenehouse
Waterloo Place

Just to tell you about myself, I am a single female in my late 30s. Very well educated (PhD). I am moving for a job located in the Canton area. I want to live someplace that is safe yet urban. Any help????????

Why not move to Canton and save a commute everyday?

I strongly recommend living in Canton, too. It's safe, urban, and you would be close to your job.

Agreed, not sure about the Abell or Greenhouse but Waterloo place is not a great location and is overpriced for what you get. Canton has some creative apartments, depending on what you are looking for--parking is insane though.

Not sure why you think Waterloo Place is not a good location. I think it's in a great location. I have know quite a few people who have rented there and they all liked it including current coworkers that are originally from California. It allows pets which is a big plus for pet-owners and right next to Mt. Vernon park/square for easy walking.

Thanks. I had a difficult time finding an apartment complex in Canton. Are there specific places anyone can recommend that allow small dogs?

You'll more likely find brick row homes unless you rent in a condo building.

Look at Tindeco Apts on Boston St. by the waterfront and also Domain on Conkling St. in Brewer's Hill. I'm guessing they are moderately expensive and I don't know about small pets, but I know someone who was very happy with Tindeco. Both are basically in Canton and within an easy walk to most everything. The convenience and ease of getting around may offset the cost difference.
