I would appreciate if any one knows a minimum cost to build an outside stairs for a basement. Basement wall is all under the ground. The stair will be away from the house so will need to build two side new walls for stair well.( Not using the wall of basement of the building.) about 10 feet deep, may be four feet wide .I live in northern Virginia. Thanks

Default Low cost, efficient stair building for basement stairs

I build all my stairs with an adjustable stair bracket product. It's easy to install and the cost to build 8 stairs is $59.00 approx. Of course, this doesn't include the wood. EZ Stairs makes them and they're code approved. They can be used for deck stairs too. Check it out at How To Build Stairs | interior stairs, deck stairs, concrete stairs- Make it Easy With EZ Stairs.

It sounds to me like he wants to establish a new opening in the basement wall after excavating for the outside access, perhaps putting in a french drain at the bottom, installing walls for the steps and then installing the steps with a Bilco door at the top. Quite a little project.
