Thanks.
Yeah, you'd be coming clear across town, then north into the county - not really worth the trip. Sorry! Have you considered the Rt 3 bus line? It runs right by Loch Raven / The Alameda to Penn Station. http://www.mtamaryland.com/services/...s/bus/3Map.pdf

Nanlev,
There is free parking near Penn station on certain streets. You can park on alternate days on Lanvale St., among others. I did this for 4 years. My car was broken into once, but other than that I had no problem. Keep in mind, the area is kind of seedy with the occasional prosititute hanging around early in the morning.
Also, you won't have a problem with seating in any train originating in baltimore, no matter what time you get on.

Thanks zhelives, good to know. My husband will only be commuting two days a week so we figure for him to park in a parking garage, won't be such a big expense.

I'm a Camden Line MARC rider but need to jump over to the Penn Line one day a week. Does anyone know what time the West Baltimore station's parking lot fills up?

Thanks!
Anisha

When I was taking the MARC to DC, the West Baltimore lot filled up really early. You'd be better off taking the Light Rail to Penn Station -- walk down to Camden Yards and you can get the Light Rail.

I'd also suggest the #3 bus if you're living in the Loch Raven/Alameda area. It stops right at Penn Station. It may take longer than driving, but it runs pretty regularly and you won't have to worry about leaving your car or paying for parking.
