Every time I came home to see the family and put on the Orioles game, I could always count on his trusty voice guiding me through the games.

Unfortunately that is my only recollection of him, as an executive and a broadcaster, even though I know he was a very fine player in his day, that I'm sure many of the old hats remember him for.

Seemed to be a hug fan of Baltimore and Maryland and remained there until he passed. So sad, seemed like he had a lot of years left in him.

Even worse to hear today was how he passed.

Jim Palmer was also very touching in speaking about his friend and long time colleague.

I almost never read Dan Rodricks any more...
but today his piece reveals why he still has a writing job.

if he could earn a living writing this sort of thing regularly...
then both he and the Sun would be far better off.
