how flexcar works
You purchase a membership. This provides you with an access card. You can reserve one of 6 cars currently parked in their own special spots near Homewood campus.
Once you've finished with the car, just bring it back to its parking spot.
Memberships are $35/yr. Hourly usage is $6. Daily is $60.
If you can do most things without a car, or don't intend to own a car, and only need one occasionally, this seems like a good deal. Because we travel a lot on weekends, it still makes more sense for us to have our own car.
