Default Help: need to drive to Baltimore from Chambersburg PA

I need some advice. I need to drive to Baltimore airport from Chambersburg PA, after a funeral on Monday. The Google drive time puts the drive at 2 hours. Ive done this once before, but on a weekend.

Can anyone tell me what the drive will be like at around 5:30 pm on Monday evening? The reason for asking is that the last flight out is at 8pm, and if I miss the flight, I'll be waiting in the airport till the next Tuesday morning flight.

Thanks

There's no easy way to make that run
It's over 100 miles and close to 2hrs to BWI
Dulles is only marginally closer.

A bit of rush hour traffic is not the problem.
Make a reservation for a motel and take a flight the next morning.

hth

Are you saying you're not leaving Chambersburg until 5:30? If so, then yeah that'd be cutting it pretty close for the 8:00 flight (although there shouldn't be much traffic by the time you actually make it to the Baltimore area).

But if you can leave Chambersburg by like 4:30 (depending on if you have a rental car, need to check a bag, etc.) then you should be okay. You shouldn't hit much traffic until you're closer to BWI, and even then it's not the worst of it. Looks like google maps is saying 81/70/695/95/195...sometimes 70 right before 695 can back up, but in my past experience 695 is usually worse going in the other direction at that time (but of course is unpredictable). The only time you'd be really going with the majority of the traffic would be on 95 south, and that'd be only for a couple miles. To avoid the 70/695 interchange and 95 south, you could probably get off 70 at 29 south and take 100 east (and either 295 north or stay on 100 right before the airport). If you are dropping off a rental car it looks like google maps is even suggesting taking 100 east.

To BWI from the west at any time of day, with our without rental car, I would take 29 to 100.
