Default Best Pizza in Charles Village area?

This is kind of a random question, but I was planning to provide the standard "pizza-and-beer" to the guys who are helping me move into my new place in Charles Village this week.

Does anyone know where I could pick up a good pizza in the area?

On that note, if you have any other great restaurant recommendations in CV, I'll take them!

Thanks!

Default Re: Best Pizza in Charles Village area?

Surprisingly for a college neighborhood, there aren't that many good choices. Mama Lucia on the corner of 33rd and Greenmount makes really good pizza. Unfortunately, they don't deliver. For delivery, I'd recommend Pizza Boli's.

I don't know about Charles Village pizza, but go down to B.O.P. in Fells Point or Matthew's off Eastern by Patterson Park. Two great places I go to a lot.

There's a place over near 33rd and Keswick that sells the biggest slices of pizza I've ever had. I don't remember the name of it though

This place is commonly referred to as "world's largest slice" but the proper name is "Angelos".

It is an experience, because the pizza is really 2 or 3 times bigger than what you think of a "giant" slice of pizza.

really though. Baltimore's pizza sucks. Here are the only places i would go:
iggies @ 818 calvert st. This is the neopolitan style of pizza.

Little Italy pizza in broadway in fells point. This is the closest thing to ny pizza in balto

Oriole pizza on charles st isn't bad

BOP on broadway in fells point is good too, but you gotta like corn meal in the crust.

I have also heard good things about Matthews in patterson park, but still haven't been.

good luck.

Mama Lucia's is very good, even though it's at a pretty grungy corner, 33rd and Greenmount. ML's crust is among the best in Baltimore.
As to Matthew's in East Baltimore, prepare for a 30-minute wait. Also, they don't do your regular open-faced pizza but sell a pie with the fillings in the middle.

Another vote for Iggies! They have the best pizza in your neck of the woods.

Not too far from Charles Village is the Rotunda on 40th Street and there is a Casa Mia's pizza place in there that is pretty good.
