Baltimore to Annapolis might be a better route for this Red Line light rail as opposed to the Security to Bayview Medical Center via Canton (where the people don't want it). Really, if they want the light rail to go to Bayview there is a better more direct way that down the center of Boston Street.

That's true but there are far more people who REALLY don't want it going through a neighborhood (like say on Fleet Street or something).

It SHOULD go under the canton square and be a subway ... oh well. The game is have the least impact on the fewest number of people who will complain, and even though the Boston St crowd is vociferous I think there are fewer people there that will be negatively affected then in the denser neighborhoods to the north.

However the red line is a must - the east-west corridor between these two places is already jammed past the point of useful busing, and will continue to do so as development continues.

How does the proposed Red Line cross the railroad(s) to get to Bayview? If they insist on Bayview as its destination why not run out Fayette St. and somehow jog over to Lombard St. to pass under CSX and cross NS on the Lombard St. bridge. This route could eventually result in a "revitalization" of the Fayette St. corridor which could probably use some,uh,"revitalization".

What makes you think those in Anne Arundel County would want it either?

Further, where do you think you'd put this unicorn? AACO is built up to the extent that there's simply so place it could physically be placed in order to reach Annapolis. Heck, even RT 10 ended up being a road to nowhere and it was laid out 35 years ago.

I'm not totally sure how it will cross - however I like your route. That would make sense to me.
