Default 414 Water Street

I would like some data/advice on the 414 water street condos located downtown Baltimore Md near city hall. I am considering buying or renting a unit to try it out first. Would greatly appreciate any former or current residents thoughts on living at these condos. Is it safe will I feel safe walking home from the harbor? What about the parking garage -is it under surveillance are numerous break ins? I know this is the city I have lived in Baltimore city before Camden Yards area just wanted to know how different this would be I always felt safe when I walked around the Camden Yards area. Any input advice would be most helpful.

Thanks

The building is really nice and tucked away by Powerplant Live. Current MLS rentals range from 1400-2160 and sales 169500-400k. Call up the concierge about the garage although I imagine there's a fair amount of security.

With regards to safety. It's also worth noting that police headquarters is practically across the street.

I remember seeing a few postings online for this building when I was looking to relocate this fall--I never had a chance to check out the building in person, but, I do recall the available units being on the rather small side for the price. Location is decent in terms of proximity to Inner Harbor and I'm sure the views are wonderful--but on the flip side, you are right around the corner from 'the' Block. If there's a steal of a deal, I would consider it. But, otherwise, may be a good idea to look into some rent-to-own options or condos as well, in Harbor East (if you can afford), Mt. Vernon or Fells Point, just for comparison.

I would certainly recommend renting before you buy. Neighborhoods are what makes Baltimore great, and you would be in a business area that is trying to lure many more residents. It is a nice location because you can walk to Federal Hill, Fells/Harbor East, Little Italy, and Mt. Vernon. The views there can be stunning, and that downtown elevated pool is pretty awesome. It is also Ideal for public transportation.

There is a big focus on downtown right now. Some of the neighborhoods have taken off like crazy, they are trying to fill the same vibrancy downtown. There are many new stores and restaurants going in on Pratt Street Right now, and they are looking to covert many of the office buildings to apartments, plus the building of new residential structures. We'll see, but I worry that you might move there, and not really feel like you are a part of a great neighborhood, which there is many of!

it's the condo basically right next to the red light district.. great place to stay if you are wasted in the strip club and make it home with a worker

lots of people live in 414 water street and like it there, despite being around the corner from the hustler club. the district is adjacent to the downtown office bldgs. you can walk to the harbor and harbor east or mt vernon, fed hill, so it's very central. it may not be for everyone but many really like it there.
