Thank you to everyone who's replied! I'm thinking we will be looking into the College Park/Towson area. My wife says she has a few friends who go to Towson University and that she wouldn't be opposed to applying there after she gets her AA degree this fall. I think this would be the best bet for us because we could get to Baltimore in a decent amount of time and that is probably where we'll look for jobs. I just hope the traffic isn't like it was when we drove up! It took us about an hour and a half to drive 2 miles! I think they were doing construction but geez.

I'm still wondering if anyone is familiar with some decent apartments in that area that would be within our price range. We would prefer to rent a townhome but an apartment will do.

College Park and Towson are very far apart. I would target one or the other, although Towson is probably more affordable, and more attractive than CP. Even there, I don't think $1100 will get you a townhouse. Towson U maintains a web site of apartments: http://www.towson.edu/housing/offcampus/aptlist.asp McDonough Township is in a very nice, but pricey area. Otherwise I would stick with Owings Mills or Towson.
