Thank you to everyone who's replied! I'm thinking we will be looking into the College Park/Towson area. My wife says she has a few friends who go to Towson University and that she wouldn't be opposed to applying there after she gets her AA degree this fall. I think this would be the best bet for us because we could get to Baltimore in a decent amount of time and that is probably where we'll look for jobs. I just hope the traffic isn't like it was when we drove up! It took us about an hour and a half to drive 2 miles! I think they were doing construction but geez.

College Park and Towson are very far apart. I would target one or the other, although Towson is probably more affordable, and more attractive than CP. Even there, I don't think $1100 will get you a townhouse. Towson U maintains a web site of apartments:
http://www.towson.edu/housing/offcampus/aptlist.asp McDonough Township is in a very nice, but pricey area. Otherwise I would stick with Owings Mills or Towson.
