Caesars unveils details of proposed $310M Baltimore casino - Baltimore Business Journal

Ceasers Entertianment has approved a new casino under its Harrahs Brand in Baltimore, the casino would create over 1,200 permanent jobs and Ceasers vows to hire locally. I heard of this a long time ago and thought it was absolute bull but Ceasers Gaming license should be getting approved sometime in April!!

Apparently the 110,000 sq ft casino will be built adjacent to M&T Stadium and may actually be connected to the stadium via skywalk. This Harrahs is supposed to be somewhat of a flagship location and if it's anything like the one in Chester, PA were in good shape. It's not Vegas quality but it's definitely better than anything you'll see in Dover.

I think it's great and this is the type of thing we need. Now I just hope no anti-progressive dick at city hall will try to ruin this.

what do you think, great for Baltimore or not so great??

looking forward to it. I'm not much into casinos, but that area looks like absolute hell, so it will be huge for investment. Also heard Hammerjacks might open another Live Music Venue adjacent to it.

Has the casino had much impact on the City of Chester? I dont know if you have been there.. but if West Baltimore were to break off and become its own City... it would be Chester, PA. My stomach hurts everytime I cut through there on the way to Philly. I read in the PA Forum that there was/is a curfew and state police have to back up local police.. Sad for a city of less than 30k.

That's what make Baltimore such a special place. We celebrate gambling and Hammerjacks. How bad does an area have to be when a "casino" (don't think Vegas) and a bar are a move up?

I don't see a casino or a bar as a come up, but I do see a venue that will provide 1,200 permanent jobs and thousands of people (tourist) to the city as a great step in the right direction! Not to mention Baltimore Grand Prix, Virgin Megafest, and the Preakness draw plenty of people to the city, the casino provides another venue for them to spend more money in Baltimore.

This thing is going to put millions of $$s of Red Sox and Yankee fan money into our gov't... and then they'll find a way to waste it!
