we lived in Bolton Hill in the 1980s and had signficant issues with crime, moved to Canton and had fewer (though not zero). And that was in the 1980s to early 1990s.

Thanks for all the replies.. i just got an email from the recruiter that we are not moving forward with the job. Total bummer, this thread has been helpful, but it's moot now

Echoing whats already been said, live in Baltimore. I also loe DC and came here for a job close to the city, but like you ended up closer to Baltimore than DC. The commute is not worth it. Period. Its a qulaity of life thing. Think about how much better your day to day life is when you don't have to spend a cumulative hour and a half extra each day sitting in a car in traffic. Trust me on this.
