Hello friends - I got a new job in Baltimore and My salary will be around 48000$. Please suggest me some places to take an apartment on Rent in Baltimore. My budget is around 800-1000$. Please let me know if below things are possible in my budget:
1) safety
2) Good crowd - Girls, pubs, restaurants
3) nice surroundings
4) if possible downtown
5) Gym and all nearby

Please suggest me some rent apartment sites where i can go ahead and book the apartment. And also let me know if i need to shoot up my budget for a good place to stay.

Thanks in Advance

Based on the limited amount we know about you, I'd say look in Canton.

I would recommend skipping downtown. It's pretty much for tourists. Check out Canton, like SunnyTxsmile said as well as Charles Village and Mt. Vernon.

In your price range, an apartment complex like Wyman Park Apartments might work. You didn't mention if you had a car....that's an important factor.

Apartmentratings.com really helped me choose apartments before I decided to buy a home.

A single guy making 48k could easily up his budget and still live well. DM dave, he's the man.

Meant to respond earlier but typically a sfh in canton or federal bill will start at $1500 and go up from there. Apartment buildings have gotten less affordable as demand skyrocketed. Also at this time you're competing with Hopkins students for housing which tends to increase prices.

Dave, you seem to know the score... how many properties have you rented in the last year under $1200.. and how about between that and say $1500? maybe those stats can help our new friend23

Well below $1200 there isn't much economic incentive for us to work them. Most of the rentals Ive done are in the 15-2000 range. Sales have finally started ticking again that a lot of us have very positive outlooks on the upcoming months.
