Hello All:

I will be attending a conference in Baltimore at the Hilton in the Inner Harbor area of downtown. I have a couple of questions:

1) Is it relatively safe to walk around in the downtown area at night, i.e., later evening 8:00 pm -- 10:00 pm?

2) Is Camden Yards within walking distance from the Hilton?

3) Do you all have any recommendations on good spots to eat and also have drinks?

4) Is it a good idea to rent a vehicle at BWI or would it just be better to take a cab?

Thanks a lot for all the help!!

I'll try and answer...
1) Is it relatively safe to walk around in the downtown area at night, i.e., later evening 8:00 pm -- 10:00 pm?

Yes, but I would recommend bringing a cell phone and never walk alone. That advice applies to all majority cities.

2) Is Camden Yards within walking distance from the Hilton?

Yes, it's literally across the street.

3) Do you all have any recommendations on good spots to eat and also have drinks?

Baltimore is a foodie paradise! So many excellent restaurants all around the city. Start by clicking this link to research the best restaurants....

4) Is it a good idea to rent a vehicle at BWI or would it just be better to take a cab?

Neither, in my opinion. I would just take the light rail and get off at Camden Yards or the Convention Ctr. I think the convention center stop is closer to the Hilton. Once in the city, take advantage of our free shuttle service - the Charm City Circulator to get around.
