It's always best to use the Park-n-Rides.
The walk from that stop to Penn Station is quite short-and the University of Baltimore has it's own Police Department.
Not to mention it being very close to the Meyerhoff and the Lyric.
That used to be a very dangerous piece of ground-now it's quite tame.
Unless the weather is very, very bad, just walk to the station-the exercise will do you good.
You have a lot of police coverage on that route, city cops, MTA cops, University of Baltimore PD and finally the cinder dicks at the station.
Not a good place to try to get paid-but very late at night, that can get spooky.
If you're not a total woos, you'll be fine.

Overnight is OKAY
I left my car in the garage overnight many times. I think it's about $10 per day I can't remember. My company paid for the parking so the cost did not matter to me. This was the covered garage parking. The parking lot may be different.
One thing I can say is that I lived near Penn Station and I could actually walk there, so I eventually got rid of my car! Transportation-wise it was pretty wonderful. The area has relatively low crime (apart from car-break-ins so be sure to keep your car in a garage if you are from out of town). There’s also a lot to do and every amenity within walking distance. The major issues I had were the vagrants, the snobs in the community association and the lack of good, free, public schools. If you have kids you may have a tough time unless you can afford the local private school—which to be fair is quite nice. If you can afford to do it, I would move there and chuck the car.
So I would say Yes, you can definitely leave your car overnight. The staff at Penn Station is wonderful, courteous and helpful and the parking garage is clean, well-lit and safe. Plus the garage accepts plastic, so you can use your company card.

Directly in front of the station with access from either Charles or St Paul.

What is the CHEAPEST 24-hour parking garage/lot near Penn Station, Baltimore? I will be heading out of Penn Station, Baltimore and want to leave the car overnight for 2 or more nights. I don't mind walking, and I am not concerned about safety, as long as the car isn't at huge risk for vandalism. I just don't want to pay the rates at the Penn Station garage. They're a bit too high and I figured there has to be something less expensive nearby. Thanks.

I believe you can park overnight in the small garage on Charles Street across from the theatres just one block north of the station. Its about $8 a day. I would check in with the on attendant since you have to get ticket for the dash.. but it is safe and secure...and cheap. If I am working late in DC I always park there since I think they close at midnight during the week but I believe they are open 24hrs on weekends presumably for people spending the weekend out of town.

$14
I just returned from Washington after spending the morning and noontime there. Parked in the Amtrak garage. Damage: $14.

Thanks, Woodlands. I know that little garage. I parked there to visit the theatre across the street. I didn't know you could park there overnight. That would be really easy.

Here's a question I've been wondering about. Is there anywhere around Penn Station where you can get a WEEKLY parking pass? There are occasions where I'm out of town for a week (I live in Station North) and don't want to leave my car sitting on the street. I also don't want to pay the fee for daily overnight parking. Lately I've just been driving to BWI and parking there since it's cheaper, but I would love to park it in a garage near my place so I didn't have to drive to the airport.

FYI: I ended up parking at the garage across from the Charles Theatre. It's important to note that you have to be back by midnight (since the garage closes up shop for the night -- although apparently not on Friday/Sat night). But they charged me $10. There is a $2 overnight charge added to the $8 (which is just the daily rate). Still cheaper than the Amtrak garage and a short walk.
