Default Where to Live? Jobs in Woodlawn and Jessup & Need Good Schools

I am relocating to the Baltimore area from Florida. My job will be in Woodlawn and my husband's will be in Jessup. We have a kindergartener as well. Any suggestions on where to live? We would be looking for a rental house at first, ideally one with 2-3 BR, 2 BA, and garage. Any info on going rents would be appreciated as well.

Thanks!

Catonsville in Baltimore County is a possibility. People will say the schools in Howard County are better, so you might look along the Route 1 corridor in Elkridge and Jessup.

I looked on realtor.com for house rentals in those areas. It's minimum rent of $1600 for a house up to $2400 or more. Garages are scarce. Two-bedroom condos start about $1200.

Why not live in Jessup? I've driven through there a few times, and there are some lovely homes along 175. Nice big yards, front porches -- and if you drive down some of the side streets, it looks like a nice community. There's an elementary school right there, too. Keep in mind, I don't know much about Jessup, other than the House of Corrections (which I believe is now closed), but you generally don't find well-tended yards with pretty houses in bad areas.
