Was there ever resolution to the OP's search?

In my opinion of Baltimore City nightlife , it's hard to create a good scene when every bar is plastered with TVs, when very few bars enforce any vibe or code, and on any given night 25-40% of all people out are wearing Orioles/Ravens gear. I'm sure for the rest of the year it'll be more like 50-60% of all people wearing something purple/ravens, and there will need to be more TVs because most bars otherwise would be empty on gameday.

I remember the TV show Hopkins a few years back, and there were several scenes filmed with the docs out eating after work late at night in Canton and Federal Hill. Had I seen that group out without the cameras eating, I never would've guessed they were all super smart, ivy educated doctors pushing the limits of medicine.

In the county there seems to be an endless supply of ivy or elite educated people, I run into them in every facet of my life.

If you like wine try Grand Cru in Belvedere Square. It's very nice.

You really want to hang out with yuppies?
All they talk about are their 401k's, Rhoomba
cats, and their favorite blue dog Democrats
(and that's before the first drink).

Exactly the problem- smart equals pretentious. Too many people saying; education is for those smarty pants down in DC, not me! I'm real, down to earth, (what are some other euphemisms for dumb?) and I'm from Baltimore.

lots of people.

I find it funny that "where did you go to school", "what do you do", "where are you from" are accepted in 98% of places and situations and general small talk, but when a person decides you are pretentious, all the sudden that's the proof.

I hate to be the one to point this out, but have you realized that a lot of this actually comes off really REALLY hipstery?
