A friend of mine is a medical student from Egypt who will be studying at Johns Hopkins Homewood campus from August to October 2013. He says there are few if any vacant rooms on campus, and wants advice on whether Charles Village area is safe. He also mentioned living in "Reed Hall." Can anyone comment on Charles Village, or on Reed Hall ? Thank you.

No problem. Reed Hall is on campus.

Charles Village is fine for a student, and there are plenty there. Between North Ave and 25th St. it's a little less desirable. But far from awful.
