I love horse racing. I hate what's been allowed to happen to Pimlico, and to Maryland horse racing in general. The ongoing feuding between track owners, the MD Jockey Club, the State, the City, the neighborhood and the out of state casino/gambling interests have all but destroyed the sport in this state.
I've never been to the Preakness. One day out of the year, sure I guess so. The National spotlight is on Baltimore, and the major networks generally don't broadcast the debauchery in the infield which has nothing to do with horse racing.
To cyntag: horse tracks are generally very kid friendly, believe it or not. Keep a close eye on her and your little girl should have a great time, any day but Preakness.
