A couple of web sites hawking vintage linen postcards of the old girl were all I could find.
S.S. Bay Belle, Daily Cruises from Baltimore to Bettrton, Md Cruise Ships
And yet this tub was a fixture of B'mo for many years, with day and night cruises. It had four decks with the 2nd one (from the bottom) being the most desirable. Seats were on a 1st come, 1st served basis. Deck #3 featured a dance floor and #4 was open (no roof).
Day cruises left B'mo and stopped first at Tolchester Beach where the younger people disembarked because there were more features there that appealed to the younger crowd. Then the boat went on to Betterton which was quieter and favored by senior citizens.
Not sure when the SS Bay Belle retired for good. My last trip was in June 1960.
Fast fwd. to 1973. There was a considerably smaller vessel that cruised from B'mo to St Michael's but for the life of me I cannot remember her name.
