My husband is looking at a job opportunity in Baltimore, MD. We really cannot afford anything above $225K right now but want to relocate.
Our criteria is a single family home with at least two beds and a garage. We are interested in either an established area or a strong up-and-coming area so we can build some equity quickly (>2 years)
We are both professionals (husband is making the move to management) and are interested in living with like-minded folks, strong community, low crime, pride of ownership, etc. We have no kids, but still want to live in good/excellent school district for resale purposes.
We started looking along the eastern shore (Elkton, Havre de Grace, even out to Dover Delaware) but aren't pleased with some of the communities, especially some of the rural "redneck" connotations. Nothing wrong with it, but it's not us.
Basically are looking within an hour's drive from Baltimore and we are NOT interested in Pennsylvania - any thoughts? Anything decent we can afford? I'm shocked at housing prices in MD - and I'm from NJ!!
