For all of the CD posters who have some decent knowledge of general business practices and ethics in the state of Maryland, these questions are for you!!? It's been common knowledge from business entities, within and outside of the region, that Maryland is not a, so-called "business-friendly state." How truth is this? Is this just a subjective opinion depending on whom your asking? Do many business owners share such sentiments and grievances? What needs to be done to turn this attitude around? Or am I just imagining this?

Your cherished and intelligent thoughts are welcomed!

It really depends on the business you are in. If you're a crack, meth or heroin dealer, MD is very friendly. You're entitled to a tax free income. MD will waive little nuisances like unemployment tax for your employees, workman's comp. and anything else that might interfer with you being a successful businessman or woman. Congratulations.

I would hardly call myself an expert on the situation, but when you take into consideration that most companies that have a presence in the DC area choose Virginia over Maryland that would lead me to believe that Maryland isn't that business-friendly.
