You've obviously never been to West Philly.

Cjeck out the neighborhoods in the 21217 and 21215 zip code areas: parts of Sandtown Winchester, Harlem Park, Mid-town Edmndson, lower Park Heights. Believe it or not-the open air drug market is less visually than it use to be. The drug dealing still exist-but not as open. I don't suggest you openly take pictures of people-that is not a respectful thing to do.

West side
Hi. I am new to this site. Fayette and Monroe in West Balmore can be
dangerous. Harlem park too if I remember correctly. I believe the Terrece
towerblocks were torn down (the Pit from the Wire). It's been a while since I've been back to Balmore. Hope that helps.

It's important to remember that "The Wire" was written in Baltimore about Baltimore. What is more important is that it could have been written and taken place in Any City, USA.

I've lived the Bmore my whole life and sadly both the East and West side have their fair share of "issues". I do agree these are areas of the city with the most drug activity. Although, You will often find a few blocks in either direction (NE-NW-SE-SW) with nicer areas interdispersed between the areas with crime. (Fells Point, Canton, Greektown, Patterson Park, Locust Point, Lauraville, Overlea-Belair road, Arlington, Bolton Hill, Mount Vernon, Mount Washington, Charles Village) etc.
I wonder if other Cities may be similar to BMore in that you find an area that has crime or rundown located next door to a nice neighborhood. Tommy 22 please be careful
