Almost forgot, you can also take your crew to the Belvedere Market and let them pick what kind of food they want and all meet at the table to eat. They have Ejji Ramen, Neopol which specializes in smoked foods, TooLouLou for Cajun/pizza, Ceriello which has all sorts of Italian food, and Atwaters. You can also get a drink and light foods at Grand Cru (they make pretty good cocktails) and Ryan's Daughter is right across the street. Everybody should be able to get food below $20 per plate and you can drive 10-15 minutes North of Hampden. Almost everyone loves the Belvedere Market.

There's also ONE MORE market that just opened in MT Vernon that may be good for inexpensive eats and drinks:

Mt. Vernon Marketplace

Yeah the coffee place next door is awesome. The dumpling place and oyster bar are pretty good. They also have a bar with a large tap selection. I will definitely be back during a happy hour for a buck a shuck and a beer.

Snake Hill is a new trendy bar as well that specializes in beers and sausages for under $20 (if that's your kinda of thing):

Snake Hill - 18 Photos - Cocktail Bars - Highlandtown - Baltimore, MD - Reviews - Yelp

It's from the same guy who owns Johnny Rads (another one of my favorites that may be worth checking out--especially for pizza).

I think the restaurants at Horseshoe are pretty good too, albeit overpriced.

@fibonacci keep it coming. You're a wealth of information.

Sascha's, Mt Vernon, has great chopped salads and good prices.

Alot of good pizza here but The Art House in Hampden and for carryout you can never go wrong with Isabella's on S. High Street.
