Never said I lived in LA, or even like it for that matter. For the record, I don't. I'm just saying that, when compared to Baltimore, it's a much safer city......even though they have a population 5 or 6 times larger that Bmore. Anyway, getting back to MICA and Bolton Hill, I forgot to mention that they can claim one of the best dive-bars in the entire city...The Mount Royal Tavern. What a great place.

Agreed-- I always loved that place but haven't been there in awhile. I am planning a walk through that area tomorrow and will add pictures to the thread.
Just curious though.... If you don't live in LA, why the comparison? Why not some other place?

You made the comparison.

This is the address of the school if it will help you recognize the area:
1300 Mount Royal Avenue
Baltimore, MD 21217

Thanks in advance!
Here are some pictures of the area. I walked it on Sunday morning so there weren't to many people about. Again, it is a very nice area.

It is a fine school to attend.

Jonjj, thanks for the pictures!

We actually looked at a house on one of the streets you posted a picture of. While we chose Federal Hill in the end, I also think it's a nice area.

Great shots jonjj. Thanks. I work at an engineering firm in the area near MICA. I never have a problem in the area at all. Sunday was a great day but you should try to take some during the week so people see all of the activity in the area. If you have any more, I would love to see them. I wish I could afford one of those places in Bolton Hill. Some bucks are flowing around there.

Default Bsmart in Bmore

MICA is a great school and Bolton Hill is undeniably a beautiful area, but it has alot more crime than I would prefer. The sidewalks roll up at 6 pm. There's hardly anyone on the streets after that. It's always been that way, even back into the 80's. I remember my sister and I loved the apartments in Bolton Hill but chose Mt. Vernon because it had more sidewalk and street traffic. You have to be street savvy and even then sometimes it doesn't help. I've been mugged twice in broad daylight. I don't carry a purse if I can help it. Still, I love Baltimore and hope it improves; in fact I think it is improving.

Been mugged twice and still like it. You'll fit in fine.
