Default Moving to baltimore

I might be getting a job in Baltimore. I probably will be working near /in University of Maryland.

Is there any good place I can get a decent apartment and dont have to drive too far to work and near some grocery store?

I am looking for not so expensive rent place :P

thanks

what do you consider "not so expensive"? And do you want a city or suburb lifestyle? How safe do you want it? UMBC is not in the nicest area...

UM Med Center is in west balmer...know the area well.

Don't live in west balmer. Period.

I keep urging such folks to check out Arbutus, MD, just over the city line, search on zip code 21227.

Also, get a map, follow Wilkens Ave west out of town, look at areas in balmer county, just north of wilkens avenue, such as up Maidenchoice Lane towards the Catonsville area or Irvington. These areas are close in but safer and much nicer that those ancient row homes in west balmer that are roach infested and very working class....we drove thru the area of UM Med center just 10 days ago....drunk guy staggering across Pratt St at Carey St...at ten in the morning....very hard looking people standing all around....it was once a proud working class area...all that's gone....terrible how many areas of my hometown have come down....drugs and alcohol and poverty....

I believe the bus runs directly from Arbutus (also parts of Halethorpe), east through Arbutus, then along Wilkens, then east along Pratt St to the UM Med area...then on east to the Inner Harbor....

s/Mike from back east....and I ain't going back (except to visit family...and eat crabcakes....)
