This is how y'all sound to me.

This city needs a hug.
No offense but you sound like someone who has no financial management skills what so ever. Those "little things" can add up exponentially over time and when the city has more currently urgent pressing needs that it's already strained budget needs to cover first (like the things I mentioned earlier regarding roadway infrastructure, public transit, sewers, etc) then any available remaining resources should be orientated towards fixing those problems first and foremost. Putting up elaborate signs at the Baltimore city limits is basically a luxury that the city can't afford.

LOL. Oh for the love!

With all due respect, read the article. The previous signs were old and falling apart. They were up for replacement anyway. The old mayor put the Dept of Transportation with the BOA dude so they could make something that might look nice. The whole thing will cost a whopping $250,000.

Money was already allocated to replace the old border markers. That's a standard part of any city's maintenance budget. Otherwise you have a city full of dirty, broken street signs and then everyone would complain about how it makes the city look bad.

BTW, this city has a 2.4 BILLION operating budget. This project costs something like one tenth of one percent of that amount.

Replacing signs that needed to be replaced anyway, with money already allocated for that, is not "elaborate" or a "luxury". It's just basic city planning If anything, the previous mayor found a way to spruce it up on the cheap.

But yes, let's cancel all standard city maintenance so we refocus all the money on fixing potholes. Then y'all would be complaining about all the other things that didn't get fixed because the city was fixing potholes.

SMH.
