I thought Baltimore was "Charm City"? Not looking too charming in these pictures. Actually, I grew up in Maryland and lived 20 minutes outside Baltimore for 10 years. I have been to the Inner Harbor many times, and downtown for work meetings. Once you get past the Inner Harbor, there really are many, many areas that look just like these photos. SCARY. It's a shame really. Hopefully they can continue renewal efforts. Apparently, Baltimore used to be a wonderful place to live back in the day.

I don't get it. Why go out of your way to find the worst pictures of the poor sections of a city? Everyone knows they are there but yet it seems like you enjoy the poverty? It seems pretty demented to me. Why not try to find some hope or something uplifting about an area that is obviously in need?

Honestly, cheerleaders! Bawlmer is bitter because he doesn't agree with you? I notice two factions on this board. Those that tell it like it is and those who are pathologically optimistic to the point that I worry about your mental health. The denial is palpable!

No...because of his representation of the city is totally one sided. Yes I agreed there are bad part of the city and also nice part of the city. From what his representation, Baltimore is basically like Iraq. If is that bad, why don't he move out? Any sane person will if he can managed it...right? if you stucked in an area that is completely ****e, and you can afford or managed it why don't you? why don't anyone for that matter? His representation that Baltimore is completely unsafe and hell you will get shot or mug while standing at the harbour is completely unfounded and crazy.

p/s I have no intention of any personal attack. Sorry if I did
