My dad is in town and I want to support the businesses still recovering from the flood. But the few I know are still closed. Can someone help with a recommendation for a place that is open? Anything but Italian, we are doing that the night before.

Thanks

Dave, we like Ellicott Mills Brewary and the Phoenix for casual. Tersiguels is nice but more upscale and the new restaurant just opened called Manor Hill Tavern. It's so nice to see Ellicott City back in action. I would check menus and see what is appealing.

In the 1970s, our group used to go to Chez Fernand on Main St., owned by the Tersiguels. If French is your thing, and the current place is as good as Chez, that's the place to go..

Thanks so much for the quick reply Elizabeth. Tersiguels is way too expensive, even with dad paying. I know the Brewary, not sure about Phoenix so I'll look at it. I may consider the Manor Hill Tavern but if they are new they weren't killed by the flood, those are the people I'm trying to help.

I heard Manor Hill just opened, so this should be a hit.
Ortherwise, try Victoria gastropub and Alehouse (both in Columbia)

Don't want Columbia, I want to show Dad Main Street EC as it's one of my favorite places in Maryland.

What about things to do in Baltimore? Aquarium is nice but that's expensive for a group. We looked up things like the Museum of Dentistry or Geppis Entertainment but neither appeal to me.

If your dad likes old, small ships, there are several of them open for tours in Baltimore.

Historic Ships

One more vote for the Manor Hill Tavern. We thought it was pretty good.

In Baltimore, you can try the Baltimore Museum of Art. It is nice and it's free.
