Default Exploring all options

Where is the greyhound located in Baltimore?
Is that area OK? where I'd get off the bus? (am i gonna get mugged)
Is there a decent hotel in that area?
Is it close to John Hopkins?
Do I have to get a cab to JH from there?

What a pain all this has been, I am waiting for my AAA book on area, just exploring all options, like I said I am just going to the doctor.

thanks again for all replies

There are two greyhound stations in Baltimore. One is near downtown near the stadiums in a very industrial area. You'd probably be alright during the daytime, but it's kind of isolated and not the nicest part of town. There is a Days Inn (I think) nearby on Russell St. The other station is where I previously mentioned, at the travel plaza off of 95. You would have to take a cab from either one, but it would be much quicker from the travel plaza.

Wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic, but I would not sleep in my car. Baltimore does have a high crime rate. You don't have to be terrified of being stabbed but I wouldn't go walking alone at night either (and the car thing is out of the question).

Yep, Catonsville is fine to stay at. Not glamorous but not dangerous either.

As for your DC trip, you can drive to the Greenbelt metro stop, park, and then hop on the metro and go to the Smithsonian. You'll be on the green line. There are maps in the metro so you can see where to transfer.

LOL no i wasn't be sarcastic, with how prices are going for gas and these hotels, I figured I get down there before dark, pay and park by JH somewhere and sleep in SUV, I have a very mean dog. Go to the doc, then eat and go back home.

I had to do this once before, or was forced to do it in Indiana, I drove thru that state and not one hotel or motel would take dogs even paying extra, thankfully the state before Indiana I loaded up with coffee in my therm's, and some food, had a cooler with me. i was so tired of driving it was getting late, so I pulled into one of the travel plaza's off of 80 crawled in the back with my dogs and slept, I wasn't giving Indiana a penny of my money, got to Ohio found food and put my money there, being so PO I drove from somewhere in the middle of Indiana, stop in Ohio and direct to PA. Indiana not a dog friendly hotel place, I'm talking Quality Inn and Super 8, they ain't no Hilton.

Geez I've already had the grand experience of checking into a place with friend, checking the beds and found a rubber in the bed, go figure, I'd rather have a dog hair than that. so people check the mattresses good
