I am a single female in my late 20's looking to move to Bmore. I will be working in Gwynn Oak and would be willing to drive up to 1/2 hour to live in/near the city. Canton has been suggested by a few people. I am looking for a "fun", diverse area that is close to entertainment, restaurants, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated

There is a thread on here somewhere that lists all of the neighborhoods and their websites. Canton is nice but there are others also.

I am open to areas other than Canton--I just don't know much about the surrounding areas. I started looking at the list of areas. Any suggestions from personal experience (living in one of these areas)? I am trying to narrow down the amount of areas that I "check out" during my next visit.
Thanks Again! |

Mount Vernon is a lot of fun. We've been here for about a little over a year, and have really enjoyed it (we're both in our mid-twenties). It's not right on the water, but it's close enough. Not as rowdy as Fed Hill or Canton, but still plenty to do. For my money, the parks around the Monument are the most beautiful part of the city.

Well, I live in the Patterson Park area and really love it. It is diverse and a bit more reasonably priced. My neighbors are Indian, Sicilian, Gay, Mexican, Central American, Black, Professionals--It's a real mixed bag. Plus I have dogs and love to walk so there ya have it.

Gwynn Oak is pretty close to the city. There are condo's there that a lot of 20- somethings live in.
