Default Moving to Baltimore area, were older

Hi all...my wife and I are moving to the Baltimore area soon..she will be working for WMAR which is north of the city..were in our 50's and searching for a area thats quiet, safe and a home with a private yard(for the dog)...were use to living away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the country style living..hey its nice to visit the city but at this point a few stores, movie theater and the local hospital close by would be great...by looking at some of the post I see Lutherville,Timonium,Hunt Valley are mentioned..any suggestions?

I am not to familiar with the suburbs but I've heard the places you mentioned being fine. You may want to post this in the Maryland thread for more accurate responses and varied choices.

Default Look no further

Rodgers Forge comes highly recommended, if you search. The closest houses are one block away from WMAR.
(I did a report on RF a couple of months ago, including a rental complex).
RF is mostly rowhouses. Single-family neighborhoods within walking distance include Pinehurst (pricy, because it is in the county), Cedarcroft (in the city) and a nook of Homeland, near Northern Parkway. Prices get better on the east side of York Road (look at the Belvedere corridor's single-family homes).
