Yay!!! where (I mean - you don't have to tell me exactly where, but if you're moving to an apartment complex, I'd love to hear where.) I'm happy you liked it here. I really love it. I think having just had July 4th, which is the biggest day of the year here (GREAT parade and even better fireworks,) my view is very rosy right now. Glad you found a place (or made a decision!)

You'll love it. My parents have lived in Catonsville for 20 years. They even live on the so called " bad" side ...the south of 40 side in Woodbridge Valley and their neighborhood is incredibly beautiful and safe. I love the historic area too around Frederick Rd.

Hi David,
I thought you were getting a place in Gallery Towers? Did this fall through? Was there some problem with Gallery Towers?
I live in Illinois and I was offered positions in Southeast D.C. and downtown Baltimore. Although I'm probably going with the position in D.C., I've also been lurking this forum to get a feel for Baltimore housing, just in case.

My wife is overwhelmed with the busy life of down town area. So we decided to live in the county this year, then after shes comfortable, move to the city for a year, then figure out where to buy a house, row, condo.
The gallery towers is the best Apt we found in the 1000-2000 price bracket. Even Apartments that were 1600-1900$ just didnt measure up to the gallery. The closest your going to get to Gallery towers living is either Eden or the one that starts with a Z. Zenieth?
As far as Catonsvile, Montrose manor is the most expensive, but is the only one that allows pets. I contacted 8+ Catonsville Apts, no one took animals. Weird.

As I recall Catonsville, there are so many raccoons, you won't need a pet!

Oddly, I've never seen a raccoon here. Not groundhogs, squirrels, chipmunks -- they are here in abundance. Actually, I have seen road-kill raccoons, but no live ones. Oh yeah, lots of foxes, deer and my neighbors swear there was a coyote in our neighborhood last year. LOTS of dogs here as well.

I fear you may have to move to Antarctica!
A friend of mine(God rest his soul) used to say he'd spent the first eighteen years of his life hunting raccoons, and now he had to keep a broomstick in his car to chase them off the porch so he could get in his house.
I visited, and there were many, many raccoons.
But animal control has reduced their numbers-a few around the area make good wild friends, but too many are a menace.
They are intelligent, non-aggressive animals, however, they can become very demanding once they lose the fear of humans.
How are you with squirrels?

My corgi is trained to chase the squirrels out of our yard. All I have to do is make the sound 'squ' and he goes running for the back door. I don't even need to say the full word and he knows he's about to have a good run. He's never gotten one, but he tries. We have thousands of squirrels on our 1/3 acre property! I've even seen a few black squirrels in our neighborhood.
