Are there low crime Baltimore conservative suburbs?
My husband and I may be moving to Baltimore for a job transfer. We would like to live in a suburb that is somewhat close by with home prices that are not astronomical. We would like kind of a small town atmosphere in a conservative, low crime neighborhood. Are there any suburbs anyone would recommend? We appreciate any suggestions!

Not sure what prices you guys would consider astronomical, but Rodger's Forge fits most of your bill. Doesn't quite have a "small town" feel, though. For that, you probably need to go out to Carroll County, e.g. Westminster, Mt. Airy, etc.--but I wouldn't call those close. In the city, Roland Park and Tuxedo Park have terrific small town atmosphere; Roland Park prices are high, but adjacent neighborhoods of Tuxedo Park and Evergreen are reasonable, with relatively low crime and everything close. I would not call either conservative, though. Again, not sure exactly what you mean by that, but you probably would not be enamored of Video Americain.

There are a number of nice areas just outside the city that are low crime and are nice places to live. However, just about all of these places are pretty liberal. If your looking for a conservative area, you'll have to go out to Caroll County and York County, PA.

Take a look at Jacksonville, Phoenix, Glen Arm, Baldwin. Those areas are beautiful, and very little crime.

Harford County, specifically Bel Air and Abingdon are pretty nice as well with terrific schools. I would look into 21009, 21015, 21014 and if you don't mind a bit longer commute: Jarrettsville and Forest Hill are all great, those zips being 21084 and 21050. All of those areas are considered conservative.

If you mean what I think of when the word conservative comes to mind, avoid most of Baltimore City and certainly remove yourself from the college row area as I think of it, along Charles Street (21202, 21218, 21211, etc). There are blocks within my neighborhood that are conservative and others that are something to behold.
