Thanks for the input, everyone. We are taking our kitty to Mt Washington Animal Hospital today (I think that is the same as the Village Vet) and will be sure to give a report for those interested.

It's probably too late, but I have been through many vets in the area. My best friend is a vet out of state. I know the ins and outs of vet practices.
The absolute best in actually caring for your animal, but not ripping you off is Dr. Ed Knickman in Jarrettsville. It is a bit of a drive but he is so completely worth it. He has helped me with two different problems with two different dogs that no one else could figure out. He is the most caring individual I have ever met. His prices are ridiculously reasonable (I feel guilty sometimes, like I should give him more). He is located at Norrisville Rd & Jarrettsville Pike. I had to take my dog there in an emergency once and actually made it from Canton (he got hurt at the dog park) to his office in about 40 min taking 95 north to Mountain rd. |

I have to second the Village Vet/Animal Medical in Mount Washington with enthusiasm. I have 3 cats now, and one is diabetic too. They've been great with him (I board him there as well.) When he had a crisis a couple years ago , and again this week, they've been very proactive and responsive. Ditto when my girl cat needed immediate attention.
They have newish office staff right now, and can be busy, so patience and time is advised. However, when I called about my sugar cat still not doing so hot today, they squeezed me in, which is good because we decided hospitalization was the best option. |

So, we went to Village Vet in Mount Washington and we were very pleased. Dr Berry was very thorough, spent lots of time with us, and seems to really listen. We will go back. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions!

I had a bad experience today at the ******* Clinic. I had to have my dog put down and it was a cold, bad experience, the vet and tech. were sarcastic and there was no compassion.

Starr0617,
I am sorry to hear about your dog and your bad experience with the veterinarian. You showed great love for your dog in doing this very difficult thing. I'm sorry they were not supportive of you. |
