You should google salary comparison calculator. It has you enter your salary in your current location and your destination and it tells you how much or less you would need to make to maintain the same standard of living in your new location. ie...if you make 25,000 in Boise you would need to make 70,000 in San Francisco (example only)

Didn't you hear about all the job cuts lately? That's more than enough to survive on here. Master's doesn't mean what it used to.
