I certainly opened a can of worms didn't I? We're trying to sell the house...any buyer is going to have to get a construction loan like we did...which is only another hurdle. We're listing it for how much we currently owe. If we have to walk away with a loss that's fine...and if we end up having to foreclose than that's just what's going to have to happen. Hopefully someone will be interested in the house.

Anyways. We'll see.

What neighborhood is your house in As with most things real estate-related, location is key. Homes are still moving in Baltimore, but they have to be priced appropriately and they have to be in a desirable area. You're not going to find too many people willing to plunk down $300k for a townhouse in Marble Hill, for instance.

The people mentioned above who are taking their homes off the market might be pricing their homes at circa 2005 prices, not 2009. I'm seeing the same thing in DC right now. Simply throwing in some stainless steel appliances and new hardwood flooring does not make your ghetto-fabulous townhouse worth half a million. Not now, at least.
