How bad is the traffic on I695 N from 70 to White Marsh
Can someone tell me how bad the morning rush hour traffic is going N on I695 to White Marsh? I'd be getting on the beltway from I70. Thanks!

Depends on where you get on and what time. Without a bit more info, it'll be hard to say, but I'd plan on at least 35-45 mins since a bottleneck is common between Exit 18-26 during rush hour.

I pity you... I would recommend doing everything in your power to avoid I70 and 695 during any kind of rush hour, hours... You can sit waiting to merge onto 695 for 30 minutes and then your pretty far from White Marsh. Not a commute i would want to make.

Really, it's that bad? Only have to do this for 10 weeks from June-Aug this summer and have to be in White March by 9:00 am. I was hoping going N on 695 wouldn't be so bad, bummer

There are a lot of worse commutes out there, but this one isn't great.
The biggest problem for you will be the 95/695 interchange by White Marsh...all the construction there gets traffic snarled up during rush hour in the direction you'd be heading. Going the other way around the beltway (through the tunnels to get to White Marsh) and you'll have the same problem except you'll also have to pay tolls each way.
Getting there by 9 is tough; you might need to leave at 7/730 to get there by 9. But, if you leave by 630, you'd probably be there by 7.
If I were in your shoes, I'd get a summer membership to Bally's in White Marsh, and workout/get ready there and avoid the stress of traffic altogether.

Are the new lanes that they are putting in on 95 north of Baltimore going to be HOT lanes where you pay a fee based on the level of congestion? I know they are doing that on the VA portion of the DC Beltway and maybe in Maryland as well... That could increase ones commuting costs to and from that area.

Rush-hour traffic is typically better on the top side of the beltway in the summer because you don't get all the private school traffic.

It's relative, but basically anywhere on 695 during rush hour is going to be very congested.
