I am relocating to the Baltimore area. Can anyone advise on any areas that are great or that I should stay away from. I was thinking about Towson, White Marsh, Owings Mills, or Reisterstown? Also, I think I found one on
1001 East Jeffrey Street...does anyone know anything about that street? Also, if anyone knows of any good advertising agencies for media buying that would be helpful too. I am moving from Los Angeles, so I am not really sure what to expect for salary in Baltimore. Thanks! Last edited by smz129; 02-27-2007 at 11:13 PM.. |

I live in Owings Mills, I used to live in Perry Hall (close to White Marsh).
White Marsh Since they added the "Avenues at White Marsh" (which is really cool) and some other attractions, the area housing values have appreciated. Parts still have an "out of the way" feel which is nice (Perry Hall does anyway---check Olde Forge Townhomes). White Marsh mall is really nice. Owings Mills is like a smaller version of Columbia (more like it wants to grow up to be Columbia). Newtown has been a good addition. Lot's of restaurants nearby (Hops, Don Pablos, Red Lobster, Tony Roma's, Red Robin--all in one area). The OM mall is a little shady. There are a LOT of apartments, condos and townhouses in the area...in particular in the Newtown area. Despite the fact that Newtowns main road is called Lakeside...there ain't no lake. But if it rains really hard and you turn your head just the right way while driving about 20 miles an hour...theres a puddle that could almost pass...oh forget it...it's a puddle. Towson is okay...don't know much about the housing values, but it's close to the courthouse and it has a real "towny" feel (I know it's not a word, but it's the description that's important here) . I think its less than OM or White Marsh...it's a college town...thats a plus.God Bless... |

I would stick to Towson. It's a very established, interesting suburb. Plenty of value for the money. Unless, of course, you want a McMansion. Then focus on the others
