It looks like we may be moving to that area and I wanted to find out the following:

1) Closest catholic church, supermarkets, fitness clubs (preferably with child care)
2) Who do you use for high speed internet? I checked and Verizon doesn't provide high speed internet for that area...
3) Any nice playgrounds/tot lots? Community Rec Centers?

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Default Montjoy Life

Hi, I own a townhome at Montjoy. Although I don't currently live in it - it's rented out right now, I did live there for about 18 months.

There is a women's fitness club called Synergy about a mile down the road, but no child care. A little bit further there is a Giant grocery and a couple of restaurants. Or, if you head a mile west on Rt. 100 instead, you'll find a Target, Safeway, Kohl's, Michael's, and some restaurants in a mall just off the first exit. There is a YMCA not too far away. Actually, there's a lot of shopping in the Columbia area, and Howard County is known for having the best schools.

To find all this stuff, just put in a Montjoy address on Google and click "Search nearby" after the map comes up. Then type in the type of business you are searching for.

I recall looking for a Catholic church when I first moved there in 2006, and I can't recall where the closest one was - sorry.

That's not too far from us. The YMCA is very nice, fairly newly refurbished, and has childcare.

There is a nice kid play area at Meadowbrook Park ... go up 100 (or 103), turn left on Long Gate, you'll drive practically straight into the park. There's also an indoor soccer/basketball facility there.

Most folks here seem to use Comcast.
