Default Prices for a studio apartment in the city?

Right now I live 15 minutes away in a nice suburb in Pittsburgh that can be accessed by the "T" (public transportation..rail system). It's only 399 a month and amazing. But this is Pittsburgh, the cheapest place to live.

What are your prices? I'm looking to get outta Pittsburgh next year.

It depends on the area.

On craigslist I found a studio for $550 in Mount Vernon. Your best bet is to check craigslist.

Ok, thank you! What are places to stay away from? I'm looking to stay somewhere where I could get to the city limits by public transportation. I'm going to graduate college in December with an advertising degree. I really want to move outta Pittsburgh next spring when my lease is up, but if I have to wait till 2011 I will.

Also, what is the night life like? Pittsburgh is so lame anymore.

And city size? About the same as Pittsburgh or bigger?

This website might be useful. It has a mix of rental statistics and listings. I found it interesting to compare neighborhoods even though I'm not in the market.

I would say that 500 -700 would be the range for a studio in Baltimore.
