Wonder if anyone can recommend a contractor for replacement windows? Have heard horror stories of some of the larger discount companies locally but am looking for reasonably priced windows that are effecient and, will last. If anyone has worked with a contractor/company that is pleased with the cost and quality, would love to hear. thanks

I used Window World--one of the discounters that advertises a lot--a few years ago and have been very pleased with the quality. I'd recommend going with their most energy efficient models, which are more than the advertised price. I got much higher estimates from some other companies for what appeared to be an almost identical product.

I used Larry Schafer & Grandson Contractor, INC. They offered two lines of products, I went with the higher end. they were still cheaper than the estimates I got from larger companies. They are a small company, just a grandfather and grandson, and they really do beautiful work. the website is Schafercontractor.com
