Anyone live near Hollins Market?
I'm still trying to find a good deal in Baltimore and commute to DC. I've liked what I've seen around Hollins Market, and specifically found a place on Arlington between Lombard and Hollins streets. If anyone knows the area, I'd like to get your thoughts...I've had a lot of good advice from this blog already! How is the crime? I'll be taking the Marc and sometimes walking home from the station fairly late. Safe enough? Any insights would be great!!

Well, I wouldn't live there. I haven't seen the area in a while, though. I would not relish the thought of walking from the MARC stop at Camden to that area. Of course, I could be completely wrong. If money's an issue, why don't you get a small studio closer to the station?

I live in Union Square, just a few blocks from Hollins Market, and I LOVE it. I bought a rennovated house on Lombard street about a year and a half ago. I, too, commute from Baltimore to DC and love how easy it is to get on 95 from this area. Southwest baltimore gets a bad rap, but these two communities are diamonds in the rough.

I live within an easy walk of Hollins Market....and walk there every now and again. The walk to the MARC station -- I don't have a car, so I do use public transportation often -- I wouldn't want to walk to the MARC from Hollins. Not because of crime -- but the distance. I walked from my house to Camden Yards to catch a bus last Thursday morning, and by the time I got halfway there -- I was absolutely soaked to the bone and had to go back home again to change. I live halfway between Hollins and Camden Yards, and it would have been even worse. Lucky for me, I don't have to walk that far to catch the MTA most days.
I'd suggest moving closer to the MARC station -- either Penn Station or the Camden Station.

Hi -
I live in Hollins Market now, and I like it a lot. Have you bought on Arlington? My house is on Lombard, and sadly, I have it up for sale. I am getting married, so we're getting something that fits us both. If you have not bought but are still interested, please contact me for more details.
