Default Lauraville home

We are moving to Baltimore in summer and considering a home for rent in Lauraville. We have two young children. We won't be able to visit in person before we move.

The home is a few blocks southeast of Harford and Hamilton interesection.

How is Lauraville in this area? Main concern would be safety and crime, as the home suits us otherwise.

Thanks very much for any advice ...

I live in Lauraville. It is not crime-free, but it is generally safe and family friendly. There are occasional petty crimes. To be on the safe side, I would make sure the home has good locks on doors, storm doors and windows, and when the car is parked, keep car doors locked, valuables out of view, etc.

You can plug in an address in this map and search for recent crime reports on any address in the city.

Thanks!

Say, are there parks and things for little kids to do in Lauraville? Or is it not a great place to walk around?

Also, Lake Montebello, is it a place to hang out or enjoy?

There are parks around, but maybe some parents can reply with more specifics. The Red Canoe bookstore on Harford Road is a great place for parents and kids. Lake Montebello is more of a walk-around-the-lake kind of place. Baltimore's parks are not the greatest...
