Default Relocating to Baltimore ..Owings Mill or Pikesville?

Hi,new to the forum. will be working at Hopkins East Baltimore. I am looking at apartments in both Owings Mill( Brookside Commons, Cascades Overlook, Owings Run) and Pikesville(Residences at Waterstone). In terms of safety, which is the better area for my family?any thoughts on the apartment complexes I mentioned? Thanks a lot.

I live in Pikesville and I don't think there really is much difference in terms of safety. The two areas are very close together and I feel very safe in either. I have no thoughts on those apartment complexes but you might find more reviews by Googling some review sites.

I think both would be fine for a family.

I know the Avalon development is supposed to very nice and upscale. I'm not that familiar with the Owings Mills Apartment complexes you mentioned.

If you are working in East Baltimore you should live in White Marsh. I would not waste my time with the west side.

Why? Unless the OP was referring to Hopkins Bayview, Hopkin is easily accessible via Metro from Pikesville or Owings Mills. I prefer the city but like Pikesville for its semblance of a main street plus the easy transit access. White Marsh is a suburban mess with no redeeming qualities, in my opinion, other than an IKEA.
