Need help....Neighbor roach problem!
Okay, So after living in our house for 8 months we have learned that our neighbors are dirty people. We live in a brick row/town house, keep it spotless and leave no food or trash in our back yard. Recently we have started noticing an influx of roaches in our back yard marching into our yard from the neighbors much like an army. Our neighbors admit to having roaches and keep their back yard like a dog feces filled mud pit with trash and all kinds of crap outside.
We've called they health department, but they do not seem like they care about it at all. I plan on calling an exterminator, but i know if the neighbors don't exterminate as well it is useless.
Any suggestions?

Yes, I live in the country and pine trees carry roaches I use Boric Acid you can fine it at a drug store or at krogers its in a bottle. put it behind your stove and refrigerator and other stuff sprinkle it down out of eye sight and keep it dry, roaches breath threw their feet and this will cause them to died fast, put it down regularly and you will see a difference. and also get some roach glue it looks like peanut butter its in a tube you can get that at walmart. good luck it works for me do this monthly

Roaches breath through slits in the sides of their body.
They are attracted to water. One could place a shallow saucer filled with water in the middle of a small patch of plaster of paris or portland cement. You could then scoop them up in the morning; they won't go far with their feet encased in plaster or cement.

I have a similar problem. The house next door was sold a couple of years ago, and has been rented to various tenants ever since. I've lived in my rowhouse for 15 years, and have never had any indications whatsoever of any type of insect problem, until about a month after the latest tenants moved into the house next door. The neighbors on the other side have also had problems since these people moved in. I have hired an exterminator who comes out every other month, and it does keep things under control. Very annoying though; this is a $500 a year expense I could have done without.

lived in Patterson Park in the 80's and my neighbors on both sides left trash everywhere (before Patterson Park turned around!) Anyway, when we moved in there were roaches literally EVERYWHERE. We put down boric acid around the entire periphery of every room and left it down for 2 - 3 weeks. Then, we had an exterminator come in and spray and most important, had him return every three months. I never saw another roach. If you live in a rowhouse, the only way to avoid reinfestation is to have an exterminator contract and have them back every few months, or, do it yourself every 9 - 12 weeks. Otherwise they will be back. Best of luck.

Try getting one of those ultrasonic pest deterrent devices, give them a shot. Some people swear by them, while others say they don't work at all, but what do you have to lose. Buy them, try them out for a month or two, but keep the receipts and packaging in the mean time. If they don't work then return them, most big stores have 60-90 days return policies.

I second the boric acid suggestion. We put it under the carpet pads, behind the appliances, and down any plumbing holes we could find. Our roach problem reduced during the years that we lived in the Patterson Park/Butcher's Hill area. If your attached neighbors don't try to control the roaches as well, you will be fighting an uphill battle.

Natural Insect Pest Control
Here is a link for natural control - although the neighbors are again not gonna help you. I have wondered at the Osage orange tree being a remedy? Never tried it. If you try it let us know! Good luck!
Only other idea pay for the neighbors also if they agree. sucks but it is an alternative.
