JoBalt87 -- You'll be fine.
Trivia: When No. 8 was a streetcar line linking Towson with downtown and Catonsville, it was the busiest line in the system. It alone carried one-tenth of the whole system's passenger load.

Wasn't it also the last line to be shut down?

Hi,
I am living in Towson, and will possibly work in Johns Hopkins University. I have no car, and I've never used the MTA public transportation before. Is it safe for me (21 female) to take the MTA public bus from Towson to John Hopkins@Eastern in the mronings and evenings?

I've walked past several bus stops in Towson, and it usually looks sketchy whenever there are people waiting at the bus stop. I'm find with taking the bus in NYC, but for some reason I feel like the commuters who ride these MTA buses are more sketchy, since it's the Baltimore area after all!

Opinions?

You make a statement like that and then ask for advice from people living in Baltimore? Are you joking? Yeah, I've never run into any sketchy people in NYC.
