Default Private rentals in Baltimore/Howard/A.A. Counties

Hello, I was wondering if anyone on here is or knows of someone who offers private apartment/condo rentals in the 700 to 1000 dollar range. My boyfriend and I are looking for an apartment, and would really prefer to rent from an actual person, not a huge corporation. We would like to find a modest, private (not shared) apartment (maybe like the private upstairs or basement of a house?) in the Arbutus, Elkridge, Catonsville, Linthicum, Ellicott City, Elkridge, etc. areas (within that region). The only necessities we require are access to high speed internet (hookup available), washer/dryer in unit or in building, A/C, and something at least 650 square feet. We can certainly compromise if the price is good enough, and if we like the place enough...

Our search has been very frustrating. A lot of corporate-owned apartment complexes have falsely advertised in our experience so far. We currently live far enough away from the Baltimore area, that it is difficult for us to look at apartment complexes; we can only do so on the weekend, and the several we did look at were very misleading at least according to what their websites advertised. I have posted to craigslist about finding something privately owned, but have received very few responses.

I'm just wondering if there is something I am totally missing out on here, because it doesn't seem like it should be so difficult to find a privately owned place to rent! We are very eager to find something, so if you are or know of someone who can point us in the right direction, we would appreciate it so much. Also, we did try the Catonsville and Arbutus Times but found hardly anything...

Thank you!

I do not know of private apartment rentals, but if you go to realtor.com. weichert.com, longandfoster.com etc. where homes for sale are typically listed you can also find condos/townhomes/single family homes for rent for a little more than $1000/month. HTH. Good Luck.

A:-)

Go to the Baltimor Sun's website and look in the rental classified ads. Also there are local papers that also carry those ads...here we have the Columbia Flyer...other areas would have others but I'm sure you can find out the names. Next I would look at craigslist for Maryland, they also have rentals posted by individuals. Good luck!

Look in the penny saver or go to the local bookstore/grocery store and pick up the city's local paper/gazzett.
